There once was a shabby, rotted awning on the southern side of the house when we first bought it so we decided to restore it, give it a facelift and put it over our bedroom window.
For those who may be a bit confused about the colours, the maroon is disappearing bit by bit, as is the olive green. Eventually the maroon window at the rear of this newly painted wall will be removed all together and replaced with boards.
Installation time and we needed some neighbourly help to lift it into place.
The next thing to take place was to finish painting the lounge room walls and of course none of that can happen until the walls are cleaned thoroughly. I like to use double strength vinegar, water and some clove oil. It always does the trick. The results are in the bucket when complete.....Yuk!
Couldn't wait to cover the yellow pine wall, and did so with some spare grey paint I had to use as an undercoat only.
It was a wonderful and special moment when the lounge room walls finally had their last coat of paint all ready for the 2nd most important lady in Carl's life to 'come home'. She'd been gone for 3 years so the music was very sweet!
