CLOSING IN THE ENDS OF THE VAN

With most of the cupboards fixed in place, it was now time to secure the internal lining on the front and back of the van. Carl taking extra time and effort to reinforce and strengthen the frame wherever needed.

You will notice in the side-on pic of the van, the extra blocks which are glued inside the track of the frame and then screwed through the lining to support the timber bench top.

The four pics below are showing the detail of the completed lining on the back of the van. Extra diagonal aluminium was screwed into the timber frame on the back panel to brace and strengthen that area. We also added an extra piece of pine across the whole width of the van under the back panel, this will support the external towel rail.

We wanted to finish off the front internal curved wall, where the lining meets the floor, so we had a piece of aluminium made, by a local fabricator and specified the exact angle of the wall, so it is a nice neat fit. We then glued and screwed it into the floor.
