The 'forehead' looks so strong and functional with extra bracing as well. In fact the caravan builder who had helped us out a few times, told us that he'd rather be towing this renovated old girl down the highway any day — than some of the newer vans.
We took extra time and care to strengthen the frame where the original lacked somewhat. Carl made some 'straps', curved them and attached them to the front of the van underneath the front window. We call this curve, the belly of the van. These new supports would help the new aluminium to retain its lovely new curve. Every lady needs a nice waist!
We attached an angled piece of aluminium to the outside as well as the inside — where the paneling met the floor. We thought this would help to close up any potential gaps to eliminate moisture or dust.
