MORE UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Updated: Aug 1, 2019

A really important job that had not been completed was the side awning. This is a part of the Reno that has a little story. The original van had a window at the front as well as the rear on this side of the van. We decided to do away with the front one as we felt it wasn't needed for light and preferred to have the extra wall space internally. When we removed the window, I decided to re-use the frame and create an awning for the rear window as they were identical sized windows. Obviously there is no over-lap like a normal awning, but that is OK. It works well and in actual fact we now have window protection on this side with the fixed little striped awning, on the front window with the fixed striped awning and on the door side we have the canvas striped awning. Gives us sun protection all round besides they look great!

You can check out just how we achieved such beautiful stripes in an earlier post.

Another couple of jobs done.... with the LED lights mounted above the door and another one installed towards the rear of the van above the window. And the water filler has also been fitted. I really wanted to put the original one back in, but without a lock on it, we were advised that the cap would be stolen overnight as they are increasingly hard to come by.
